As at March 1, 2008, Sail City warrants that any sails purchased by you will be free from defects in material for 10 years, and free from defects in thread workmanship for the life of the fabric or 10 years, whichever is shorter (with the exception of water proof sails where the fabric warranty is for 5 years). Our warranty does not cover acts of vandalism or storm damage (contact your insurance company).

The warranty is supported by each of our fabric suppliers and the Tenara sewing thread manufacturer, W L Gore. Each sail under this warranty programme will display a label indicating it has the Tenara sewing thread as a component. Do not accept any sail without this label. During this period any claims can be lodged with Sail City or any of our authorised dealers, for assessment.

The warranty is for the sail only and does not relate to any other costs incurred by you such as removal or reinstallation of the sail, nor does it cover damage to the fabric caused by stainless steel wire rope malfunction.

It is important to note that your claim should be supported by photographic images and a comprehensive record of the service history of the sail. The service history should show that the sail has been inspected and adjusted as required, at least yearly, so as to be in good working order with tight hardware, secure posts and attachment points.
